Project Natal Renamed Kinect & Release Date Announced

microsoft project natal xbox 360 motion controller 298x298 Project Natal Renamed Kinect & Release Date AnnouncedWith the E3 games expo/conference in full swing, major product releases are coming left right and centre.

Microsoft’s E3 press event in LA, Project Natal is now renamed “Kinect”, provided some interesting moments, with a Cirque du Soleil performance accompanying the somewhat strange launch.

Fortunately, Cirque du Soleil didn’t dominate all the news. We learned that early adopters of Kinect for Xbox 360 will have 15 compatible launch titles to play. The games on offer include ‘Kinect Sports’, Microsoft’s predictable competition against Wii Sports; Dance Central for the ladies and Sonic Free Riders.

The complete list of launch titles is:

  • Adrenalin Misfits
  • Dance Central
  • Dance Masters
  • Deca Sports Freedom
  • EA Sports Active 2
  • Game Party In Motion
  • Kinect Adventures!
  • Kinect Joy Ride
  • Kinect Sports
  • Kinectimals
  • Motion Sports
  • Sonic Free Riders
  • The Biggest Loser: Ultimate Workout
  • Your Shape: Fitness Evolved
  • Zumba Party

If you’ve used a Nintendo Wii before, you’ll probably be more comfortable using Sony’s PlayStation Move technology, but for those of you wanting the complete, controller-free experience, Kinect for Xbox 360 is definitely a tempting offer.

Unfortunately, there’s no official word on the price of Kinect as of yet from Microsoft, but you can look forward to a November 4th 2010 release date!

[...] Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, a seemingly much slicker answer to video game fitness, exclusive to Xbox 360 (for Kinect motion controller) and we’ve got a fairly decent collection of titles, even if it is sprinkled with the trappings of [...]
